Home stretch

Coming down the home stretch here on the Ravenhill Herb Sampler.  The last band  is a big cross stitch (I really don't count the very last one as it won't take more than 45 minutes to complete)

Things were going slow there for a bit. I had some crazy tendinitis in my left arm that kept me form stitching for a few weeks there.  Things seem mostly better now.

I made these to sell at my EGA chapter's boutique. They didn't turn out half bad.

Queen Anne's Lace Update

Fledglings and other birds

It looks like three baby bluebirds have fledged from our nest box this spring. The first picture shows them waiting for mom on our deck railing. One is up by the bird feeders, and the other two on the downward slope of the rail.

Here's a close up of one of the little cuties.
All day and evening we hear the pheasants. This is the one Thomas calls "our pheasant", because he lives close, and therefore sounds the loudest.

Here's my little female hummingbird. The male comes around as well, but today she was standing guard at the feeder. This year we have flowers and plants that attract them, so maybe we'll get more than these two. I doubt that these little ones will share well though.

Herb Garden Sampler - Updated progress

Progress! Just have a few trees to finish, add two more ravens (it is called the Raven Hill Herb Farm Samples), Then I can move on to the next section! Itty bitty over one thread. But then we get to some really fun stitches!

Herb Farm Sampler Update

Finally, I feel like I've made progress on this sampler. The lawn in front of the little house seemed to take forever. Just a few trees left, then on to the fun stuff!

Herb Garden Sampler

Update on the herb garden sampler. It's been slow going. I've been a bit tired lately, and the front lawn is a pain with all the color changes. I'm almost done though! Just a few more rows of the intense color change section, then on to more fun things like trees, and different stitches!

Signs of Spring

It's early for so many leaves on the trees here, but I cannot complain. Everyday something new is blossoming, and it's wonderful. Today I was walking past a courtyard here at work and was taken away by the flowers on the trees that just two days ago barely had leaves.

Pin Cube - Complete!!

I finally did the finishing on the pin cube this week. Once I got started, I just had to keep going, so two later usual evenings later it is done.
That makes my list 25% complete.

Sides ONE and TWO

Sides THREE and FOUR

This is the bottom of the cube. It's so cute, it's kind of a shame it's on the bottom.

This is the cube on my dresser, in front of the mirror. I was trying to show as much in one picture as I could.

Herb Farm Sampler

It may not look like much, but here's the start of the herb farm sampler. I worked on this most of the weekend at the stitching retreat. I'd had some done before I left, but most of this was accomplished on the weekend. There's still more of the lawn to do. Once I get some of that constant thread changing lawn done I will treat myself to a few trees, or some scotch stitch that goes next. Since there's still more than half left, I need all the incentive I can get!

Sinsinawa 2010

I had a wonderful time at the annual retreat at Sinsinawa Mound Center with Tri-State NeedleArts. I made some good progress on a few projects.

My herb farm sampler now has a house, and part of the front lawn. That lawn is a pain since it's a ton of color changes. I forgot how had it was to work on 32 count linen, but it does look nice.

I worked some more on the queen anne's lace as well. That trellis is coming along. Pretty soon I'll get to the actual flowers.

My mom was there too, and she picked up stitching her cards again. She'd worked on one that aggravated her, and that caused her to put it all away for a while. That troublesome card is now completed, and she's back stitching!

There were so many pretty things to see this weekend. I'm really looking forward to the region fall meeting in October to see more!

Maybe today or tomorrow I'll get some updated pictures loaded up.

Spring means bluebirds

Spring must be here. We've got a bluebird hanging around. He doesn't seem as interested in the bluebird houses, as much as just squabbling at us while we're outside. He also has been guarding the bird feeders, even though he doesn't eat from them. My husband reports that he's been flying up to the windows - mostly in rooms where the family is. The one time he didn't fuss is when my husband when down back to straighten up the bird houses. It seems this bird has an agenda for us, we just don't know what it is.
