Hooray!! My homepage is back up in it's new location. My ISP changed servers and didn't take the web pages with it. Same stuff, new location.

The stitching is out of date, but there's something there at least now. I am sure there are still some broken links and those will get fixed up in time.

The geek is back on line!

Well, after my computer died this spring, I had stopped updating my stitching page, since I didn't have my geeky program up. Well, I've made a start towards getting that going again. I installed my eclipse workbench, and found my old workspace. I gathered up the pictures I want to add to the page. Tonight I'll work on loading them up into the tool, and hopefully I will have things to share this week!

I haven't updated my web pages much since I got my computer back on line. I don't have my web page tool running on the new computer yet. I'll have to get that going again.

What's new?

Whew! My computer flaked out and we had to reinstall it. What a bummer! Anyway, I haven't gotten my java environment up yet, so I won't be updating my web pages any for a while (see previous post about what a geek I am!)

Here's some stitching updates for the time being:

This little fellow is a punch needle project I bought last fall in La Crosse, WI.
I think he's the cutest thing, and plan to finish him into a squishy pillow.

So, how geeky am I?

Truly this tells the tale.... Quite a while ago, I came up with this idea to store all my stitching project information (the kind of stuff I put on my web page) in an XML file. Then I could write a program to read the XML and generate my web page. Wouldn't that be cool? And what if I made a program that would display edit boxes for me to fill in and browse for the images? And then I could select which projects I put on the page? Doesn't that sound COOL?

So, I finally did it. I had to learn how to read an XML file into a java program for work, and now that I know that, and I used what I'd learned about making a graphical interface from the last project I was on to make my program. I haven't loaded it up with data yet, I've been fixing bugs in it so far, but soon my stitching page will be all generated by my program. It's so cool, I just had to tell someone.
